Our visit to Esquimalt Lions Club

Sooke District Lioness members Charter President Anne S, current President Gail N, Esquimalt Lions Club President Bob M, and Lionesses Treasurer Barb Y, Secretary Sue W, Lioness Jean W (our Judge Brian Stevenson Award winner for this year), Tail Twister Jo B, and co-Secretary Jean C after the meeting.

For our May Directors' Meeting, we decided to visit the Esquimalt Lions Club. We enjoyed a great supper and an informative meeting with lots of fun. Tail Twister Bryan Mee stumped most of us with his "guess what is in the bag" trick - it turned out to be an old-fashioned apple peeler. Sooke District Lioness Sue W won the 50/50 draw. These Lions really are a driving force in their community, and it was a pleasure to hear how successful their latest projects had been.

What is in Lion Bryan's bag?

Lionesses Jo B, Jean C (bening over the bag) and Anne S all trying to guess what Lion Bryan has in his bag. Lots of laughs and jokes about that one. Two Esquimalt Lions and Lioness Anne S correctly guessed the apple peeler and each won a bag with a prize. Let's just say that Anne's wasn't apple juice!

Visiting Sooke Lions on Valentines Day 08

Sooke District Lioness visited the Sooke Lions meeting on Valentine's Day (great supper - thanks, guys !). Guests were DG Sid Roemer and his wife, Bobbie - far right beside Lioness Sue W. (standing).

Sooke has 3 Lions Clubs - the original Sooke Lions Club; our Sooke District Lioness Club which was formed after some of the ladies chose to become the Sooke Lioness Lions, the 3rd Lions organization. As DG Sid Roemer was to visit the Sooke Lions Club, we were invited to the meeting so Sid could meet with two clubs at the same time.
