Each year, the Sooke Lions Club organizes their volunteers and members of the Sooke District Lioness Club and the Sooke Harbourside Lions for the Chip-In for the Kids, a weekend fundraiser for the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities (Camp Shawnigan). We set up outside the Home Hardware in Sooke, where people bring us their Christmas trees. Lions also pick up trees from those who can't transport their own. All donations go to support Camp Shawnigan. All of the trees are chipped up and re-cycled.

An important event for Lions and Lioness Clubs of South Vancouver Island - the installation of our new sign on the Trans Canada Highway at Westshore Parkway. Celebrating the sign are Sooke District Lionesses Jean N, President Gail N, and Secretary Jean C. Standing between Jean N and Gail is ZC Mari Hall, who instigated the project, and with us is 2nd Vice DG Sooke Lion Al Beddows, who along with Sooke Lions John Farmer, organized the various trades needed to build and install this sign.
