SDL 25 year pin 1982 to 2007

Sooke District Lioness 25 Year Pin - 1982 to 2007 - we presented these pins to our current Lioness members as well as past members and dignitaries at our celebration.

A definite must for your Lioness / Lion pin collection - ask any Sooke District Lioness how to obtain your pin.

25 years ago (1982), the Sooke Lioness Club was started, sponsored by the Sooke Lions Club. Our first President was Anne Scott. Anne was one of the many original members to attend our party, and entertained us with a history of the Club's early activities. According to Anne, the #1 fundraiser was "Henrietta's Poop Parlour _ $1.00 a square" (ask Anne about that one). They also sold handmade personalized Easter eggs, blackberry pies (members ended up buying most of them !), handpainted Christmas ornaments (again mostly purchased by the members).

They provided Christmas hampers to needy families, organized "Toys for Kids", assisted the Sooke Lions with their Seafood Suppers and at work parties at Camp Shawnigan, assisted at All Sooke Day with activities such as the baby show, registered and weighed babies at the Well Baby Clinics, made and delivered treats for Meals on Wheels.

Anne and the Sooke Lioness even entered a railway pump car race ! Did they win - I don't know - ask Anne !

What would a celebration be without a cake - it was delicious !
