August 23rd at Lioness Heather's for our meeting - Lioness Yvonne D shared her late Father's collection of baseball caps with us.

Hats from Yvonne

A souvenir from the 94th Lions International Convention. When Lioness Gail attended a display about Leader Dogs in the U.S., she told them about two of our Lionesses, Jean C and Jean W who do so much to support Dog Guides in Canada. Little black stuffed Leader Dogs wearing their distinctive green blankets are used to publicize the program. Lioness Gail brought back one of these cute little stuffed Leader Dogs to give to Jean and Jean.

April 27th - a farewell party at Mulligan's Bar and Grill in Sooke. Our newest Lioness, Diana L, is moving away to a new job. The evening was fun, but hard to say goodbye to Lioness Diana who has been so active in our club over this past year.

December 9th - partying with the Sooke Lions and the Sooke Harbourside Lions at the Sooke Legion. Guests included District Governor Lion Gary Reidel and his wife, and Zone Chairman Joan Chevrier. Lots of delicious food-the Sooke Lions cooked the turkey and ham; the Harbourside Lions did the veggies, and we provided the tasty desserts.

We can count on Lioness Mari H to be the life of any party, with her seemingly unlimited wardrobe of costumes!

Christmas Lioness Mari

September 16 - Drop Zone fundraiser - volunteers rappel down the side of the CIBC Bank in Victoria to raise money for their charities. Many Lions participated. Lioness Gail was there to support Sooke Lion VDG Al Beddows and Esquimalt Lion Joe Buczkowski. PZC Lion Mari Hall was on hand to take pictures.

Lions and Lioness from many clubs on lower Vancouver Island came to cheer for Lions who braved the descent down the CIBC building to raise funds for the BC Lions Society for Children with Disabilities. Participants included Lion Joe and VDG Lion Al as well as DG Lion Gary Reidel who came over from Port Angeles for the event. Luckily, the rain held off until all of the Lions were down.
