on October 17th, 2009 at the Sooke Legion Branch #54.
Join
us next year on October 16th - you will have a wonderful
time!
|

Preparing
the entertainment - M.C. Paul McTavish and Accordionist
Mary Ross with Sooke's favorite songbird, Janet McTavish.
|

Lioness
Anne S with husband Jim welcomed our guests to Oktoberfest
and were in charge of the prize draws.
|

Lioness
Gail N serving the delicious potato salad; plates already
filled with sausage and bun, sauerkraut, and red cabbage.
(Hope they saved room for dessert - decadent black forest
cake and homemade apple strudel !)
|

Our
cooks, Lionesses Heather N, Yvonne D, Jo B and Ellen M being
thanked for a fabulous meal.
|

Entertainers
Accordionist Mary Ross and singers Janet McTavish and Anthony
Brouwers. Anthony also charmed the audience with his delightful
yodelling.
|

Dancers
enjoying our traditional Bird Dance.
|

That
Bird Dance was just too irresistable - Lioness Mari H in
her work apron joining in the fun.
|
|

October
25th - Lionesses Barb Y and Isabella N preparing for the big
party.
|
2008

Bonnie's
special "lioness" tablecloth welcomed our guests
to our sold - out Oktoberfest.
|

Displaying
our Playtime Bingo sign. We receive some of their charities
funding each year for our projects.
|

Some
of our guests rode up the stairs to the party on the Legion
stairclimber. Great when it works, but the Legion is on
a fundraising campaign for a more reliable and practical
elevator.
|

Pumpkins,
a spook, and 3 friendly faces for a cheerful welcome from
helper friends Maggie and Vivian and Lioness Isabella N.
