PDG Lion Bill Koski conducting ceremony 06

Induction Ceremony March 6, 2006 for new Lionesses Becky L. and Isabella N. with Past District Governor and District Liaison Lion Bill Koski.

New Lionesses are welcomed with an Induction Ceremony at a general meeting. Each new Lioness is sponsored by a Lioness and attends 3 meetings prior to being asked to become a member.

Members are given some historical information about the Sooke District Lioness. Some of the Lionesses read the "Advantages of Lioness Club Membership" aloud during the Induction. Each new Lioness is presented with a Sooke District Lioness pin, as well as our special "Teddy Bear" work apron and a gold "L" pin.

As well as attending meetings and participating in our various fundraising activities, we enjoy social events at eachother's homes, we assist with community activities such as parades and Remembrance Day, and we visit other Lions and Lioness Clubs.

 ADVANTAGES OF LIONESS CLUB MEMBERSHIP

A woman can express her concern for human need through structured, productive service activities that benefit communities both near and far.

She can work side by side with other women and men who share her ideals - who are similarly committed to helping change the world for the better.

She enjoys the fellowship of her club and the friendships that rise from it.

As a participant in the Lioness District Program, she learns what her sisters in Lionism are doing to help others.

She has the opportunity for cultural exchange - for international friendship and understanding.

She knows she is part of an association that offers service opportunities for the family unit.
